Tessera Projects
Tessera Subdivision
Tessera is a new, 800 plus acre subdivision located on the North Shore of Lake Travis in Lago Vista. Hines Development is the developer. Tessera is a master planned community which will eventually contain up to 2,000 houses and commercial enterprises along with a school and fire department. Casey Building Company was hired, under Chasco, to build the above ground amenities for the community including the Entry Monument and Pavilion.
The entry Monument is a 5 story fully functioning clock tower with a wall connecting to two smaller monuments. In the middle of the boulevard is a sign Monument that houses a solid glass sign featuring the subdivision logo. This sign was fabricated by Sun Hi Casey. The clock tower is custom steel with a natural rock façade featuring sandstone and limestone. The rock work is custom and detailed. The entry to the tower is highlighted with four masonry arches and large cut and stained Doug Fir Timbers. At the top of the tower is a viewing platform that allows a panoramic view of Lake Travis and the Texas Hill country.
The Pavilion is a fully masonry facility which includes two restrooms and two storage areas. It is located next to the pool and is the main amenity for the residence of Tessera. It is over 2,000 square feet under roof. The roof structure features two custom, field built, Doug Fir Trusses along with Doug Fir Rafters. The Roof itself is stained 2 x 6 tongue and groove with barrel tile shingles above. The Pavilion features a huge Masonry Arch looking onto the pool area. The arch is constructed with custom cut 2”x 2’x 5’ solid limestone, grooved so that the individual stones could be supported by a steel rafter above. The pavilion is located on a bluff and has a view looking directly down the lake toward the hill country and Austin beyond.
